General Terms & Conditions Alamo GER 
Age Policies* in Germany 
You must be at least 21 years of age to rent a car.  
Renters 21-24 years of age may rent Mini through Standard size cars (as well as Compact  
and Standard Wagon), small Minivans, small SUVs and commercial vans. Additional fees 
may apply for renters under 25 years of age. 
 
*Age Policy may vary by location; please contact the renting branch directly if you have 
questions. (Use the Location Search feature located on the navigation bar at the top of the 
page to find the address and phone number of a branch). 
Mileage Policy 
The mileage policy applies to all car classes, except commercial vans and 9-seaters:  
Day 1-4:       300km per day 
Day 5-13:    2100km per week 
Day 14-27:  1500km per week   
Day 28+:     1000km per week 
Over mileage will be charged at 0.25 EUR (VAT included). 
Commercial vans and 9-seaters include 200km per day.   
Additional Protection 
For all cars rented at German locations, the included coverage has a deductible of 1000 
EUR.     
If Collision Damage Waiver is not included in your quote (e.g. bookings from North 
America), proof of coverage by the Credit Card supplier is required. Otherwise, CDW needs 
to be purchased for an additional charge. 
Reduced liability cover (Excess Protection) is offered at an additional charge at the time of 
rental.  
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI/PEC) 
PAI/PEC is offered at time of rental for an additional charge. 
Forms of Payment 
A security deposit of 250 EUR plus the estimated cost of the rental will be taken by VISA, 
VISA Debit Card, MasterCard, Maestro, American Express, or VPAY card issued in the 
renter's name at the time of rental. These cards are also allowed for final payment. Certain 
car classes (Full Size and above) require that the security deposit be taken on a credit card 
(Visa, MasterCard, American Express). 
Winter Tires 
During winter weather conditions, winter tires are included in the price. 
Additional driver 
There will be an additional charge for each additional authorized driver. 
GPS devices 
GPS devices are available for an additional charge.  
One-Way Rentals 
One-way rentals within Germany are allowed. A surcharge applies. Availability of car 
classes for one-way bookings may depend on regional restrictions. 
Out-of-Country Rentals 
You may drive the rental car to certain countries outside of Germany. There are certain 
restrictions on car classes and makes/models.   
Out-of-country rentals are allowed into Andorra, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, 
Gibraltar, Great Britain, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, 
Austria, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain.  
Out-of-country rentals into Croatia, Italy, the Vatican, San Marino, Poland, Slovakia, 
Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary are allowed excluding rentals of the following 
brands: Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW, Land Rover, and Jaguar. 
Out-of-country rentals are not allowed to any other countries not mentioned above. 
Airport Rentals 
An additional airport access fee of 20% applies to car rentals at airport locations.
